A Major Milestone: South Africa’s First ASDC-Accredited EV/HEV Training Centre Commissioned

A year ago, on Saturday, 08 March 2025, we signed an MOU in Delhi with the ASDC (Automotive Skills Development Council of India). Exactly one year later, on Saturday, 07 March 2026, the first accredited ASDC EV/HEV Training Centre was successfully assembled and commissioned at the AIDC (Automotive Industry Development Centre) Supplier Park in Rosslyn by our Indian technical partners.

This ASDC-backed training centre is equipped with:

  • Drive Train and Wiring Harness benches
  • Battery Assembly Tester and Charger benches
  • Drive Train Lab benches for multiple vehicle types, ranging from 2-wheelers to 4-wheelers

This represents a major milestone in our mission to bridge South Africa and Africa’s NEV skills gap. We are achieving this by partnering with renowned institutions from Europe and Asia to offer internationally benchmarked, hands-on training in high-voltage automotive systems locally.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our ASDC partners, Mastrolee, and Spaark Technologies for their technical support throughout this project. To my Chrisnelsa colleagues, this achievement would not have been possible without you. To the AIDC team, let’s continue this journey together; better days are ahead. To my family , thank you for believing in and supporting me.

The transition to green mobility is inevitable, and its success will be driven by the participation and talent of Africans.
