About the Opportunity
Chrisnelsa EV/HEV Training Centre is seeking a skilled Auto Mechanical Electrician to step into a future-focused role as Electric/Hybrid Vehicle (EV/HEV) Service Workshop Foreman.
This unique training-to-employment opportunity combines full-time work with sponsored technical upskilling toward Level 3 EV/HEV Technician Certification. The selected candidate will play a key role in the supervision of workshop operations while developing specialist skills for South Africa’s rapidly evolving electric vehicle industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day operations in the EV/HEV service workshop.
Supervise, train, and mentor workshop assistants, trainees, and interns.
Oversee diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on EV/HEV and conventional vehicles.
Enforce high-voltage safety protocols and maintain OHS compliance.
Allocate job cards, manage workflow, and ensure service quality.
Participate in ongoing EV/HEV technical training and certification activities.
Support the technical training team in integrating skills development.
Manage workshop tools, consumables, stock, and inventory.
Compile service documentation and report on workshop performance to management.
Minimum Requirements
Qualified Auto Mechanical Electrician (Trade Test / Red Seal)
5–8 years of workshop experience in vehicle electrical diagnostics and repair
Proficient with 12V/24V vehicle systems and electronic troubleshooting
Prior supervisory or foreman experience (advantageous)
Willingness to undergo structured EV/HEV technical training
